New Orlando

A post-apocalypse dystopia setting using the Dresden Files RPG system. Something very bad happened to the world we knew, and now the survivors are trying to deal with what is left. The game focuses on consequences and hard choices in a tough-but-fair open world that can be pillaged, explored, and hopefully rebuilt.

City Aspects:
People Will Disappear

Everything the Council Does Is For the Greater Good

Miracles Are Holy. Magic Is Evil.

I will post more city locations and faces as they become available.

Main Streets

Keep Moving Along
Only Council Members and approved officials have vehicles to drive. Everyone else walks. Conversation does not often take place in the streets. Why great strangers that may disappear? It makes you look suspicious.

Face: Cassie and Moose
Adorable Delivery Team
Cassie is well aware of her position on the food chain and hides behind Moose when she’s unsure of others’ intentions. She double-checks identities before making deliveries and keeps relationships strictly on a business level. Cassie and Moose want to perform their jobs well enough for their reputation to keep them fed, but otherwise push to stay beneath the notice of anyone who would make their lives more difficult.

Deacon Magistrate's Office

Postby Chrono » Thu Aug 20, 2015 8:37 pm

The Spirit Of Law
The local office that represents the Deacon's office is rather plain on the outside, and yet everyone gives the building a wide berth as they walk by. Here justice is carried out and laws are enforced, and those seeking the aid of a miracle worker are free to make an appointment.

Face: Esmikri Induri
Deacon of Tolerance
Esmikri is the quietest member of a conversation, often bringing up topics and stepping back to focus attention on others, taking long pauses, or making disconcerting conversational leaps. He believes strongly in what he does, and will deal out punishments with both regret and unshaking resolve. He genuinely believes that everything he does is for the greater good of the people.
He’s a dedicated man, a seeker of truth. He believes in the Council and what they stand for, but the injustices he’s seen weigh heavily on his heart.

Central Piety Building

Postby Chrono » Sat Aug 29, 2015 12:34 pm

The Scary Thing On Your Side
Once the Saint James Catholic Church Building of Orlando, the Central Piety Building is now the political and spiritual center of the city. Messengers are constantly flowing in and out of the council of Zion's New Orlando hub as many seek their divine instruction and protection. Pharisees tend to outnumber the Sadusees by only a small margin. From here, the miracle workers are sent out to do good and deliver justice.

Face: Eugene Smithers
Zealous Pharisaical Fogey
A hater of the Green Economy liberals that he is certain really led to the end of the world, Eugene never hesitates to state his opinion on a matter. He believes in the greater good and sees it as his mission to preserve a pure portion of humanity until the next glorious age begins.
Made a bishop by default as the world came to an end, Eugene believes he was appointed by divine rite which is how he rationalizes everything he does.

Literal Diagon Alley

Underground Unorganized Wizards
While most people have no knowledge of stories concerning The Boy Who Lived, his fictional legacy still lives on. People with talents that fear they are not Miracle Workers find this place charming to visit, and thus it has become an unofficial meeting place to share and connect.

Face: Someone
Pro-hippie Anti-preppy
There is always a friendly face here. People need that.

Frozen Mansion

Postby Chrono » Sat Aug 29, 2015 12:45 pm

Wealthy Freehold Lord's Manor
While many corporation owners joined or formed the Zion councils of various cities, a few of them kept doing what they were doing. The Frozen corporation is the only one in Orlando to do so. Everyone knows someone that works for Frozen, though few people actually get to visit the mansion its self.

Face: Krivolacarticus
Very Good Dragon
May people joke that the owner of the Frozen Mansion is not human. Of course that is a quiet whispered joke, since no one wants to stir up trouble with such a powerful corporation or the Zion council of New Orlando.

Northern Gates

Postby Chrono » Sat Aug 29, 2015 1:53 pm

Outside Is Sin, Death, And Eternal Despair
The northern gates of New Orlando see the most activity, though few people know what that really means. Occasional caravans and convoys from other cities are allowed inside the gates, but are never allowed to stray far in. Those that keep watch are grim and quiet about what they do, though they always seem delighted to receive a rare friendly visit from the city.

Face: Hope
Empathetic Miracle Deliverer
One of the few people approved by the central government to use her miraculous gifts, Hope spends much of her time at the Northern gates. She is happy to fight off reavers, libertarians, and other hippie sinners to protect the lawmakers. Her duties and skills often pull her away from the wall to investigate and aid the people of the city, which she loves.
